A rare and unusual painted and parcel gilt side cabinet. The giltwood dolphins very much in the ‘grotto style’ of Pauly et Cie of Venice.

Carved giltwood dolphins such as these are shown on various types of furniture by Pauly et Cie in the literature - Fantasy Furniture by Bruce M Newman on pages 57-77.

The upper mirrored section with finely executed giltwood dolphins above a lower mirrored section with twist columns mounted on claw feet.

The original paintwork in attractive pastel green colours combined with the finely carved giltwood elements.
